When Americans looked to the heavens during the Space Race, they saw heroes in helmets and space suits. One of them, astronaut Leroy “Gordon” Cooper, was also a proud Freemason whose journey carried the Square and Compasses farther than ever before.

The Grand Master’s Class is coming up quick! It will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in Grand Lodge, Boston. To help better prepare for the day, all members of the Valley of Boston wishing to attend must fill out the registration form.

Every year on September 26, people across the country celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day, honoring the life and legacy of John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed. Born on this day in 1774, Chapman became a folk hero for his role in spreading apple trees and apple culture across the American frontier.
