Parking & Transportation Alert

The City of Boston will be honoring the World Champion Boston Red Sox with a parade tomorrow morning at 10:00am. This will be affecting you if you are interested in attending any of our activities tomorrow at the Grand Lodge Building.

Please, arrive early. The city is expected to start shutting down streets on the parade route from 9:00am until 1:00pm. If you plan to drive in to the building, you want to try and get here earlier. If you are a worker with Rose Croix or Massachusetts Consistory, this is of particular importance.

We strongly encourage you to take the MBTA into Boston to beat the road closures.

If you are taking the MBTA, please be sure to take the Orange Line to Chinatown. This stop lets off a block down the street from Grand Lodge, and is behind the parade route. If you take the Green Line to Boylston, you may not be able to cross the street due to road closures.

We look forward to seeing you join us tomorrow morning.

Record Class for Grand Master

The Valley of Boston will be having the largest class of the last ten years tomorrow afternoon. Over 150 candidates are expected to join Scottish Rite tomorrow, 140 of which are Valley of Boston four-body candidates.

We look forward to honoring our Grand Master by showing him the strength of the Scottish Rite with such a large class. We know he will be eager to greet not only our candidates, but each of you as you come to share in this special day.

This one-day class will be taking place tomorrow, Saturday, November 2, 2013 in Gothic Hall at the Boston Masonic building, 186 Tremont Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The schedule of the day can be found here.

The Grand Master is scheduled to be received during the Rose Croix portion of the day.

Presentation of Honors

Several Valley men will be presented with honors at this Saturday's class. Four men will be receiving their 33° jewels, while two will be receiving their Meritorious Service Award, or MSA jewels.

The 33° is an honor bestowed upon a member of the Rite by the Supreme Council to a brother in recognition of his Masonic service and his contributions to society.

The Meritorious Service Award is the highest award a Valley can present one of its members. All 32° Scottish Rite Masons are eligible to receive it. It is bestowed upon a brother for his dedication to Masonry itself, and the Valley in particular.

Read more to see who will receive their awards this weekend.
