Join Scottish Rite

How do I join Scottish Rite?

Visit with a local Valley. Once you've found a Valley near you, ask about some of the events you may attend. It's helpful to get to know the members and learn more about the Valley's activities. Closed meetings are often exactly that: closed to non-members; however, you may be welcome to attend certain social events to get to know the active members of the Valley.

Obtain an application for membership. For membership within the Valley of Boston, you can get a blank application here. The application will ask for some basic information about you, such as name, address, profession, the Lodge you are a member of, the Lodge in which you were raised, and whether or not you have previously applied for membership in Scottish Rite. You are also required to sign an Oath of Fealty, which is a part of the application itself.

Submit your application. Your application will need to be accompanied by your $200 Initiation fee. Annual dues are required by each Valley, so the amount for that may vary depending on where you intend to join. Life Membership fees are also set by each individual Valley, so be sure to ask about those fees depending on where you go.
