Valley Men Elected as Grand Wardens

The Valley of Boston is pleased to announce that two valley men were elected on Wednesday to become the next Grand Wardens for the Massachusetts Grand Lodge. Ill∴ H. Robert Huke, III, 33° and Bro. Richard Maggio, 32° were elected to Senior Grand Warden and Junior Grand Warden, respectively.

Richard Maggio
Bro. Maggio was raised to the Sublime Degree in March of 2000 to William Parkman Lodge. Being very active within his lodge, he quickly rose through the ranks and he became Worshipful Master in 2005-2006. Richard has been awarded the Meritorious Service Award (2002) and the Joseph Warren Medal (2009).

Richard became a member of the Valley of Boston in 2003. Spending time behind the scenes, he got involved with the Membership Advancement Committee (05-06). Bro. Maggio has also been active on the District level. Along with being a Past District Deputy Grand Master of District 13, Richard was also involved with the DDGM Training Team and currently serves as the DDGM Mentor Chairman.

Along with serving as the Junior Grand Warden, Bro. Maggio also serves Grand Lodge on the Masonic Building Association Committee, 186 Tremont St. Committee, Membership Development Committee and as the Masonic License Plate Chairman. He most recently became a member of the Board of Directors for Grand Lodge.

H. Robert Huke, III
Bro. Huke began his Masonic career as a DeMolay in Old Colony Chapter (Quincy, MA) in 1961. Once reaching majority in 1968, Robert immediately joined Wollaston Lodge and immersed himself within his blue lodge. He would become Worshipful Master twice (94-95, 01-02) before Wollaston merged with Rural Lodge. Bro. Huke has served his District as a MYChIP Chairman and a L.O.I. Instructor.

Robert Huke has served the Valley of Boston since 1968. He became a worker for Boston Lafayette Lodge of Perfection in 2002 and rose up the ranks to become the Thrice Potent Master (11-14). Robert was designated a Sovereign Grand Inspector General, 33° in 2013. He has also spent time on the Board of Governors for the Greater Boston Children’s Dyslexia Center.

This is not Bro. Huke's first time serving Grand Lodge, having held the positions of Grand Steward, Masonic Service Officer, and many other roles. He adds this office to a long list of roles he is currently holding. Along with being a Trustee of the Massachusetts DeMolay Foundation, a committee member of the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory and others, Robert plans to have his schedule full.

From the Valley of Boston, best of luck to both brothers for the upcoming year. We know you will do great work for our fraternity!
