Consistory Member Receives High Honor

At their annual rendezvous, held this year at Provincetown, Massachusetts Consistory Yacht Club elected CPT Jeffrey L. Gardiner, 33o, MSA, as their Commodore by a unanimous vote of those present.  (Note:  CPT Gardiner’s tardy arrival at the meeting may have contributed to his election.)

Commodore Gardiner follows a distinguished list of Past Commodores, which include PCDRE Joel Peterson, PCDRE Watson Franklin, PCDRE Walter Peterson, and PCDRE James Franklin.  It is noteworthy that CDRE Gardiner is the first Commodore not named Franklin or Peterson.

The 2014 Rendezvous was held, June 27 to 29, at the Provincetown Marina, just below the famous Pilgrim Monument. The cornerstone of this monument was laid by our Masonic Brother, Theodore Roosevelt, in 1907, and rededicated by MW Jeffrey B. Hodgdon in 2007.

From the port (left) side is Valkyrie (CPT Pete & Paula Peterson), Way Better (CPT Peter & Betsy Smith), After You (CPT Joel & Sue Peterson), Taking Stock (CPT Jim Franklin & Brenda Swithenbank) and Crackerjack (CPT Jeff & Fran Gardiner).

The 2014 flotilla was made up of five yachts and their crews. Joining the flotilla from shore were Comander in Chief, Ill. Scott Inglis, 33o, and First Lieutenant Commander, Roy Leone, 33o.

Massachusetts Consistory Yacht Club, a wholly owned subsidiary of Massachusetts Consistory, is always seeking new, worthy and well-qualified members. Interested parties should contact our membership chairman, PCRE Watson Franklin.
