Commander in Chief Honored with 33º Designation

Scott D. Inglis was elected to receive the 33rd Degree along with 173 other Scottish Rite Masons at the Supreme Council Session for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction in Cleveland this week. The 174 men who were unanimously elected to become Sovereign Grand Inspectors General will receive the honorary degree in Washington D.C. on August 20, 2013 next summer.

As honorary members of the Supreme Council, each man who was elected to receive his 33rd has been recognized for his outstanding service to the organization in a highly appropriate fashion. It is an ancient custom to give honors to those whom honors are due, and there is no shortage of merit for this great honor within the Valley.

Scott David Inglis began his Masonic Career as a member of Needham Chapter of DeMolay in Massachusetts. He rose to the rank of Master Councilor in 1976 during his time in DeMolay.
In 1984, Scott was raised in Norfolk Lodge, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1990-91. He also served as Grand Standard Bearer for the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts in 1998. In addition to belonging to each of the Scottish Rite bodies in the Valley of Boston, Scott is a member of several York Rite bodies in Massachusetts as well.

Scott was installed as the Commander-in-Chief for Massachusetts Consistory in 2012. He was elected an Honorary Member of the Supreme Council for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction on August 28, 2012.
