Happy Birthday Brother Washington
Event date: February 16, 2019 to February 22, 2019

This Monday, February 18, 2019, our country will collectively celebrate the birthday of our first President, George Washington! While the whole country has a stake in this historic day we, as masons, have a special bond with the father of our nation. President Washington was also Brother Washington, having joined the Lodge in Fredericksburg, Virginia, in 1752 at the age of 20. While we all hold Brother Washington in the highest respect, did you know that there is a Masonic ceremony specifically to honor him?

The ceremony put together by the George Washington National Masonic Memorial is written for the purpose of honoring Bro. George Washington. It is suitable for performance—with adjustments as needed—in a tiled lodge of any degree. Although Washington’s birthday is on February 22, it is appropriate to hold this ceremony anytime around President’s Day.

You can view, or download the entire ceremony through the link below or by visiting the George Washington Masonic Memorial website!
